Basirhat TMC candidate Haji Nurul Islam fell ill right before the polls. He is admitted in a private hospital in Kolkata, kept in ICU. He was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of fever.
Later it was found that he was suffering from pneumonia. He was diagnosed with an infection in the right side of his lung.
However, according to doctors, the physical condition of Haji Nurul Islam is stable. He is undergoing treatment. The doctors were worried about the high blood sugar levels. However, his physical condition is stable with a strong dose of antibiotics.
According to a source of the private hospital, today he might get shifted from ICU and kept under observation in the cabin.
